TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by Ginger @ GReads. Every Friday Ginger asks a question somehow related to reading or books or anything else bookish.
Book Series Finales: Which book, from any series has been your favorite ending? What about your least favorite ending?
I love this question. There a many series I follow and over all the books the characters become dear and most of the time I hate it when a series ends, because there will be no more books.
My favourite endings so far:
Harry Potter – The Deathly Hallows – J.K. Rowling
The sixth book, The Half-Blood Prince, was and is a huge disappointment to me. So I was relieved when I read the last Harry Potter books and realised it’s bombastic. I am still awed how all these different things come together. The plot is awesome and the ending, though sad, was very fulfilling.
Vampire Academy – Last Sacrifice – Richelle Mead
The last book of this paranormal series is my favourite of all of them, everything fit. There is so much happening and the ending is just perfect. Nothing to regret here.
Hunger Games – Mockingjay – Suzanne Collins
I know most people won’t feature the final books of the Hunger Games series here, but I actually I liked the ending of Mockingjay, especially the epilogue. The book was so sad and depressing that I really appreciated the epilogue and though I wish that the last few chapters would be longer, I’m not complaining about them.
Where She Went – Gayle Forman
The ending of Where She went is fantastic. I suffered though the whole book, cried loved, hated both of the main characters, hoped for them. And the ending was unexpected and therefore the sweeter.
A lot of the series I follow aren’t finished, so no complains here. I was thinking hard about series, which ending I hated and I couldn’t really come up with anything. Except: I loved the first few books of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, but since then the series is dragging on and on and on and I actually stopped reading it.
I also liked the beginning of Claudia Gray’s Evernight series but I lost interest in the following books and the ending wasn’t exactly convincing either.
